My name is Denice Harrison and I am the creator behind Dark Horse Handcrafted. While I enjoyed my life growing up in the city, it seemed my heart was drawn to the more peaceful surroundings of country life. This city girl now turned country girl hangs her hat in Mayerthorpe, Alberta. Having always been a very hands-on person, my venture into candle making began as a personal endeavor to create an amazing sensory experience for my own pleasure. Now empty nested - my passion for creating candles has evolved and become a full-time focus allowing me to develop an exceptional candle with sustainable ingredients. I am inspired daily by changing seasons, cool breezes and warm summer days. Everything we make, we do with attention to detail. Hand poured in small batches, our candles are carefully curated to invoke a unique burning experience. Helping people add personal touches to their lives is what we love!

Return Policy
All of our products are carefully inspected before they are shipped. Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. We will replace or refund products damaged during shipment if photographic proof of damage is submitted to Dark Horse Handcrafted within 7 days of delivery. You may also exchange your product for another candle of the same size and price within 14 days of purchase. The buyer is responsible for shipping cost on all return items.
